Obsidian v1.9.4 (Installer v1.8.10) – PDF++ v0.40.30 Issue with "Add Highlight Directly to PDF"

Hi, I'm currently using Obsidian v1.9.4 (Installer version v1.8.10) with the PDF++ plugin v0.40.30.
I have a PDF open side-by-side with my notes. When I enable the "Add Highlight Directly to the PDF" option and try to highlight something, the text is highlighted on the PDF, but it doesn't get pasted into my notes file. Next to the icon, it just shows “Writing…” but nothing actually happens.
If I disable the "Add Highlight Directly to the PDF" option, everything works fine—the highlights are copied into the notes as expected. I’d really prefer to see the highlights directly on the PDF, but I can work without it for now. PDF++ has been a lifesaver for me!
For context, I have both Auto-copy and Auto-paste enabled.
Any idea what might be going wrong? Thanks in advance!

I tried to reproduce it in my environment, but unfortunately I couldn't. Could you fill in the bug report form below?
That would make debugging easier. Especially attaching problematic PDF files (if the problem is specific to particular PDFs), screen recordings, and debug info will be helpful. Thanks!
