[BUG] Unable to modify host that has been shared with a user

The Problem

When a user has a permission to see a host in READ ONLY mode (no permissions to modify the upstream host definition), the UI allows for edits that end up with an error. Instead UI options that are not allowed should be hidden.

Meanwhile things like credentials should be editable and only applicable to the logged in user and not updated on the upstream host definition. This way multiple distinct users can see the same shared host and both use different credentials

How to Reproduce

1. Share a host with a user with a read only permission
2. Log in as the user and try modifying the host. See the error on the bottom right.

The ungated path is the drag handle. HostItem already hides edit, share and delete based on your permission level, and HostEditor disables the form and hides the save button — but the sidebar row is draggable regardless of permission level:

Dropping a shared host on a folder issues a bulk folder update that the server rejects, which is the error in the corner. #1119 gates the drag handle on the same permission check the other actions use.

If the edits you were able to attempt were somewhere other than dragging a host between folders, let me know the exact steps — the remaining write paths all appear to be gated, so anything else would be a separate gap worth fixing too.

On the second half of your report — per-recipient credentials, so several users can connect to the same shared host with their own logins — that is a change to the sharing model rather than a fix, so it is not part of #1119. Probably worth opening as its own feature request so it can be scoped properly.

I just clicked the edit pencil, which allowed me to modify the host properties. Then, when clicking "save host", the server returned an error, because the logged-in user is not the owner and does not have permissions to edit the host.

Based on the thread, the fix was: The bug regarding the visibility of the 'edit pencil' for read-only shared hosts has been resolved, as confirmed by the reporter. The request for per-user credentials on shared hosts is a separate feature request.
