When a user has a permission to see a host in READ ONLY mode (no permissions to modify the upstream host definition), the UI allows for edits that end up with an error. Instead UI options that are not allowed should be hidden.
Meanwhile things like credentials should be editable and only applicable to the logged in user and not updated on the upstream host definition. This way multiple distinct users can see the same shared host and both use different credentials
How to Reproduce
Share a host with a user with a read only permission
Log in as the user and try modifying the host. See the error on the bottom right.
