Contrib Group Application: AxioRank Agent Verification (axiorank) #914

Description

@frostyhand

Hello, and thanks for reviewing. Applying to contribute a new project.

How I intend to help the Backdrop community by joining this group

  • Option 1: I would like to contribute a project.

(option 1) The name of your module, theme, or layout

AxioRank Agent Verification (module, machine name axiorank).

It verifies the AI agents that reach a Backdrop site's login, admin, search, AJAX, XML-RPC, and API endpoints against the AxioRank inbound verify endpoint, and can challenge or block them, with monitor and enforce modes and a fail-open design. It also adds an in-admin Agents page to manage inbound agent rules. It is the Backdrop counterpart of the existing AxioRank WordPress plugin and Drupal module (https://www.drupal.org/project/axiorank).

(option 1) The 3 requirements for new contrib projects

  • Include a README.md file containing license and maintainer information.
  • Include a LICENSE.txt file. (Full GNU GPL v2 text; GitHub detects it as GPL-2.0.)
  • If porting a Drupal 7 project, maintain the Git history from Drupal. Not applicable: this is a new module written for Backdrop, not a port of a Drupal 7 project, so there is no Drupal 7 history to preserve.

Post a link to your new Backdrop project under your own GitHub account (option 1)

https://github.com/AxioRank/axiorank

Do you agree to the Backdrop Contributed Project Agreement?

YES

On approval, the project machine name is axiorank, so I would transfer the repository to backdrop-contrib/axiorank. Tests: php tests/pure-logic.php runs the dependency-free gate and envelope assertions, and tests/axiorank.test provides SimpleTest coverage of the pure logic, the permission gating, and the admin pages.
