Line status gutter doesn't work in RubyMine 2025.2.3

With version 2025.2.1 of the plugin installed from the marketplace, the Git Scope-backed line status gutter coloring doesn't seem to have any effect in RubyMine 2025.2.3. I set up a Git scope to compare my branch to an ancestor branch, and the tool window shows the expected list of changed files, but the line status in the gutter only shows changes from HEAD (the default behavior).

I tried opening the same project folder in IntelliJ IDEA CE 2025.2.2 with the same version of the plugin installed. In IntelliJ, the line status gutter coloring worked as expected, and automatically updated when I toggled between different Git scopes.

I haven't used RubyMine myself, but I'll have a look these coming days to see if I can reproduce the behavior with RubyMine + debugger.

I tried with RubyMine and just cloned a random github project (https://github.com/basecamp/kamal). Tried setting the scope to a couple of branches such as origin/1-8-stable and origin/1-9-stable..HEAD and the gutter highlighting seem to work as it should.

A couple of questions:

• What platform are you using?
• Does it work when not using common ancestor mode?
• Any difference in behavior if you switch between different scopes/tabs?

@hoxi Sorry, missed your response. Here's what I see. I did the following:

• cloned the Kamal repo
• opened it in RubyMine (2025.2.4, with Git Scope 2025.2.1)
• checked out a new branch
• made a change to the readme
• committed my change
• opened the git scope 'diff against main' view

As I saw earlier, the git scope view does show that this file has changed, but there's no indication in the editor gutter of what lines have been edited on this branch. Switching to common ancestor mode does not make a difference.

Thanks for the detailed update! I think the fixes in the 2025.3 release should address the issues you mentioned. Please test it once it’s live on the JetBrains Marketplace and share your results.

@hoxi thanks for looking into it! Unfortunately, I installed Git Scope 2025.3, and I see the exact same behavior as above -- committed changes on my branch do show up in the git scope window, but are not highlighted in the sidebar.

Hm, strange... Your exact example above works for me. I only use Windows and Linux for development and testing, so this might be a MacOS specific issue. Just for completeness, do you have all three of these options ticked:

If this is the case, then I will provide a special build with some logs in this area that you maybe can use to give me some more hints on what is happening.
