Backend - Upgrade plugin with latest StreamController.EventManager support

Hi! Just for tracking purposes

I would like to implement the StreamController EventManager workflow to the plugin instead of using internal events to handle the events logic.

We can work on this after completely implementing multi light support for the plugin.
