Why add originalArgOne=mongod to environment variables

I remember version 4.4 didn't need this to create users.

Can you elaborate on what it is you're trying to accomplish? There are at least a couple alarming things in that YAML you've shared, most notably that originalArgOne was never intended to be "user-facing" (ie, you shouldn't need to set that manually, so if you're having to, there's a bug somewhere in our code), but perhaps even more critically that you definitely should not be running this image with privileged: true especially if you're exposing your 27017 port outside the relative safety of Docker-managed networks to other systems on your host network / possibly internet publicly if you're running this on a public cloud instance because privileged in this context effectively means that any compromise of your database leads to trivial compromise of the host machine too.
