You can print coloured text to the terminal/output :)

If we add any extra visual indicators or printing logic in the core library, it is important that this can be disabled or customized.

In project-specific libraries, I would likely use my own printing/logging/display system, so I need to control what is shown and how it is shown. Therefore, the core implementation should not enforce one fixed representation that downstream libraries cannot override.

I don't think any of us has any hard/particular requirements yet. Maybe your display method simply gets adopted in core? :)
