Should chart lines connect up when collectors disconnected?

If for some reason the performance monitor is offline or not collecting metrics from the targets, then should the graph lines connect? Personal feeling is they should not, and there should simply be a gap similar to how Red-Gate Monitor does this. If the lines connect, one could mistakenly infer that those are real data values rather than a gap in the data.

For example, in my screenshot, between the two red lines, my performance monitor was offline; however, the metric graph has a continuous line, and I think that's misleading.
