Renedring of LaTeX

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has an idea why the following two math blocks render differently in FSNotes. It would be great if the app eventually would accept the more compact notation without requiring additional escaping of backslashes. This would make it easier to exchange files between different Markdown editors.

The preferred version is

$$
\begin{aligned}
a &= \int\sin(x)\, dx \\
&= \int\cos(y)\, dx
\end{aligned}
$$

But FSNotes requires

$$
\begin{aligned}
a &= \int\sin(x)\thinspace dx \cr
&= \int\cos(x)\thinspace dx
\end{aligned}
$$

or

$$
\begin{aligned}
a &= \int\sin(x)\\, dx \\\\
&= \int\cos(y)\\, dx
\end{aligned}
$$
