Add feature: coordinates of insertion point instead of probe tip #42

Description

@arturoptophys

First of all, thx for the great tool!

For my own (and potentially others) workflow i would suggest following feature: Adding coordinates of insertion point instead of probe tip.

Problem

The anatomical overlay only accepts the probe tip position (AP/ML/DV of the lowest electrode). But an insertion is often planned from the other end: you know where the craniotomy is and how far you intend to lower the probe — where the tip ends up is the thing you are trying to work out. As soon as angled probe is involved at least one axis of the manipulator readings does not correspond to the AP/ML/DV axises.

Right now that means doing the trigonometry by hand, and redoing it every time you touch pitch or yaw, since the tip moves with them.

Proposed

A Tip / Insertion switch on the anatomy panel:

  • Pick which coordinate triplet you type; the other is greyed out and shows the derived value live.
  • An insertion depth field links them — travel along the shank, i.e. what the manipulator advances, so it stays correct at any tilt.
  • Angles pivot about whichever point you are entering.
  • A snap to brain surface button: in insertion mode it places the entry point, in tip mode it reports the depth you would need.

One thing worth agreeing up front

Manipulator depth refers to the physical shank tip, while "tip" everywhere else in PixelMap means the lowest electrode — differing by tip_length_um (209 µm on 1.0, 206 µm on 2.0/QuadBase). Proposal is to take the manipulator reading and apply the offset automatically.
