They are very annoying as i must write something within that field or it would stay there forever until i reopen the file! And when i change a function to another and accepted the suggestion a circle would be placed before the semicolon forcing me to write another semicolon while there is a one!

I just want to be able to hit ctrl+l without displaying any hints to the fields

They come from 'mini.snippets' and show empty tabstops that need to be visited in order to finish the snippet session. There are several ways to act here:

• Actually fill tabstops and finish snippet session. You can read more about it here. This is my suggested approach, since those completion candidates are marked as snippets for a reason.
• Adjust how snippet is inserted to not show empty tabstops by using empty_tabstop and empty_tabstop_final options. There is an example here. See how config.expand.insert is customized. Set to empty string to hide it. But I would not recommend it, since there would still be loose snippet sessions and that might be problematic.

You can press <C-c> while in Insert mode to dismiss them. I was frustrated quickly as a new user until I actually read the docs (which are excellent).
