OIDC with existing accounts

I've recently setup an oidc provider on my UpSnap instance to offload account management to an already existing LDAP directory.
From my test it seems that if a user with the same name already exists, upsnap creates a new user with a generated username (userXXXXX).
Is there a way so that instead of creating a new user, if the username is the same, it links the oidc provider with the already existing account ?

That's more of an upstream issue to pocketbase since that is used to handle authorization.
