How To Add Testing

Description

Hey everyone, is it possible to implement testing using bolt? The only way I can think of is mimicing a payload that Slack will send.

if this is possible, can someone point me in the right direction? The goal is to add a testing phase in our app pipeline, to ensure all commands etc. are working correctly.

The only way I can think of is mimicing a payload that Slack will send.

There is no official testing support in Bolt for JavaScript yet. So, as you guessed, doing so is the only way to write unit tests so far. Actually, Bolt itself has such tests like that: https://github.com/slackapi/bolt-js/blob/%40slack/bolt%402.3.0/src/App.spec.ts#L745-L851

Also, let me share #383 here as the issue has some discussion on this topic.

Hey just wanted to ask if "no official support in Bolt for JavaScript" is still the current state of things? I've been trying to figure out a good way to test but it came out rather convoluted, see gr2m/github-app-slack-demo#33. Would love any insights or points on how to writes tests and mock Bolt/Slack APIs
