Paste cannot work

Problem

I have been using the paste（ctrl+alt+v） function normally before, but recently found that the command is not used.

When I try to use the command, a prompt appears in the lower right corner of vscode.

My env

OS: win10
VSCode: 1.70.0
Markdown Paste: v1.0.0

My try

1. Re-install the plug-in -> failed
2. Install the old version of Markdown Paste (0.21.2, 0.21.1) -> failed
3. Try resetting the plugin's settings -> failed

Question

Any good suggestions for this problem? I'm not sure if it's my personal problem or a plugin problem, or a vscode problem

This extension need powershell command to run script on windows. So you must make sure powershell can be search in PATH. You can use the where command to check powershell location:

C:\>where powershell
C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe

I'm also affected by this issue. Powershell is installed in my system. Note that I don't have admin rights. Please let me know I can test or try something.

You can try the following command line.

cd %userprofile%\.vscode\extensions\telesoho.vscode-markdown-paste-image-1.0.1\node_modules\xclip\dist\res\scripts
powershell -File win32_get_clipboard_content_type.ps1

If there is no problem it will get clipboard type information.

I'm running into a similar issue when trying out this extension and can't get it to paste an image properly into an mdx file at all..

At some point it was pasting just the timestamp into the .mdx and then the file made its way into the folder directory, but after attempting to edit a .vscode/settings.json things went wrong and it stopped..

So i deleted that, and uninstalled and reinstalled the extension but now there is nothing occurring..

Ive tried even a normal .md file and its the same.

It only appears in the dropdown box of the Output channel when trying to paste content using Markdown Paste.

@telesoho Here is an example of what I am doing.. Pretty sure this is what you instructed to do..
Side notes

• i also made sure this extension was applied to all profiles/users as well to be sure that wasnt the issue
• works fine with a .md file

also to add to the mix, I did end up adding the 'markdownx' info for settings.json as shown in #56

In regards to the incorrect shortcut

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CTRL+ALT+V is correct right? - disregard what the overlay says i dont know why it didnt put the order correct but I assure you I pressed them in the proper order..

Even though its clearly so via the extension settings? also the fact it works when using a markdown(.md) file directly?

You can try using CTRL+SHIFT+P

this does nothing unfortunately, although it does show the commands with shortcuts

In version 1.4.1, I have adjusted the extension to activate automatically when opening a Markdown file. You can try reinstalling the latest version of the extension, then open any Markdown file and check VSCode's Output panel under the "Markdown Paste" channel to see if there is any information indicating that the extension has been activated.

I appreciate the effort thus far in figuring out a solution to this issue..

I've given the new version a try.. when using a .mdx file I noticed the extension never loads/initiates..
as soon as I opened and tried a .md file it loaded and worked.
I attempted to try the .mdx file again, and it did not work..

Maybe you need to switch the language mode of the MDX file to Markdown in VSCode.

@telesoho ahh, I believe I see the issue.. you likely arent using the correct language mode, which is maybe why it works for you..
soon as i switched to markdown directly it worked but this is impossible to utilize as theres no typehinting etc given

it needs to be mdx so we get proper formatting when working with a mdx file.

The shortcut Ctrl+Alt+V, which is bound to the "Markdown Paste" command, is only effective in Markdown language mode. If you want to use this shortcut in MDX language mode, you can configure it through VS Code's keyboard shortcuts settings. Also you can directly run the "Markdown Paste" command via Ctrl+Shift+P.
