App versions: 18.0, 17.0, possibly 16.0 as well
Review initially posted for v17.0 claimed notifications remained in notifications shade after deleting them
Reviewer for version 17.0:
Since a recent update I can no longer delete some emails from my notifications slider, the emails appear deleted but then reappear on the slider! having that feature was the main reason I downloaded this in the first place. Hopefully this can be rectified soon as it is very annoying.
Same reviewer for version 18.0:
For the past month, I've had to delete every notification twice (because it immediately reappears), and even after reading it, I have to open the notification twice and tap "read." It's getting really annoying. ||| Before: A really great app. Well done. Thank you. // Update after one week: The app is so great. Thank you, Mozilla ❤️❤️❤️
Report on notification issues shows that a number of notification failures potentially related to syncing app state with push notification state, which could be tied to the same issue. A delay between the server and local state could be related to inconsistent states.
Could be related to this v16.1 issue, though we'd have to investigate if the inclusion of the message list widget changes the problem. Could also be due to multiple processes attempting to load remote notifications, creating inconsistent states. One user reported that the issue was not reliant on the message list:
I don't use the widget but this affects me too. Am on A16, app version 17, from F-Droid, using since years ago back on A12 as "K-9 mail", move to A16 included device wipe so only shows recent date of install, but data/cache were restored from back then.
