Description

Reddit is rolling out this new popup, GUEST ONLY, it is impossible to close it.

Seems to be related to how long you sit on a page, after a few seconds or sometimes a minute it pops up.
Refreshing the page takes it away for another 5-30 seconds or so.

It makes the site unusable, (unable to scroll etc)

( Similar to instagram / facebook. However unlike those, simply removing / blocking it on reddit makes the site fully usable again (as guest). )

If this is about a breakage or detection, I have verified that it is caused by uBlock Origin and isn't a site or browser issue.

unrelated - and the popup happens if ublock is off or on
also I noted it doesn't happen on all of my computers. I have cleared out cookies etc in browser settings popup happens on 2 machines (same IP) doesn't work on my laptop?

What does reddit on android have to do with the desktop and an unrelated popup?

That popup comes from a completely different code base, for mobile. It isn't named similarly at all either, nor does it popup similarly.

Where is the issue thread to comment in? That issue isn't a duplicate, it is an entirely different filter / problem.

In fact a fix in that thread is "enable desktop mode" that doesn't work, as this new unrelated popup, is for desktops.

I read that thread before I posted this, it isn't a duplicate as I said and spelled out for you. If you can't say why it is a duplicate because you have a custom definition of duplicate maybe you need to outline that in your rules too.

Commenting in the old issue threads allows volunteers to see a history of the comments/issues that are related to a site without having to deal with multiple threads.
