JCOM1 header on this board uses RS232 signal levels (i.e. 12V), it cannot be directly connected to the CMOS/TTL signal levels present on RTE pins. One has to use IDC to DB9 adapter and DB9 null modem cable to connect to DB9 connector on RTE.
