Running Proton
You can download any proton throught the steam officialy, generally it will be stored in /home/user/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Proton...
Also you can download the Proton GE
All protons needs to be stored inside the protify folder (If not changed) protify/protons, i recommend creating a symbolic link, but do the best way for you.
Press the add button to open the add modal
- You can now select the launcher:
- This will show all the options for protons inside the
protify/protons

Select the proton you want, in this case it will be the Proton 9.0

Now you need to select the desired item .exe to open with the proton

After selecting you can change the prefix folder, but this is not necessary if you don't change it will create automatically in the default prefix folder:
protify/prefix/item_name -
There is two options that is recommended to be enabled for running items with proton

Wine Compatibility: this is not necessary, but recommended, some times the proton uses this for some reason.

Steam Compatibility: this is totally necessary if you are using official protons, you also need steam installed in your machine (not necessary to have it opened)

Now you can confirm it to add into library, and press the play button
