🎯 What: The testing gap for calculate_bmi (DOI calculation) was addressed.
📊 Coverage: Scenarios tested include standard calculations, zero/negative burn rates (infinite stock logic), zero stock, and fractional burn rates.
Result: Increased reliability of the core inventory balancing metric. Added .gitignore to maintain repository hygiene.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 11022383880717303507 started by @alfieprojectsdev

Added comprehensive unit tests for the `calculate_bmi` function in `balancer/core.py`.
The tests cover:
- Standard case (positive stock and burn rate)
- Zero burn rate (returning 9999.0 for infinite DOI)
- Negative burn rate (returning 9999.0)
- Zero stock
- Floating point burn rates

Also added a `.gitignore` file to exclude Python build artifacts.
