Mavenized example

I changed the existing pom.xml files and added an additional one for the example.
Not sure, why you added a parent node to the root file - but beware I am quite new to Maven.

This branch is currently used internally, that is why you get that super-pom parent reference.
In order to simplify things I've created a new branch with very basic maven build support. I've also done a pull request for it which you can follow here jgilfelt#45. I've also included your properties change in the parent pom in the new branch.

I would suggest using that as a base for maven support since I won't change the original mavenized branch since it's used internal.
