Tindermint
This repo seems to have been more or less untouched for the past 3 years. It does contain a very in-depth spec of the tindermint white paper Spec.
There seems to have been a split in development 3 years ago (https://github.com/tendermint/tendermint2).

CometBFT is the canonical implementation of the Tendermint consensus algorithm and is a primary building block for the Interchain Stack. Historically, CometBFT originated as a fork of Tendermint Core in early 2023 (announcement here) and since then it diverged significantly by adopting modern features such as PBTS or ABCI v2. CometBFT provides optimistic responsiveness guarantees.

Tindermint2 was the inital fork that lead development to a new project called gno.land. Not sure what they are doing, at a first glance they are using the tindermint2 repo to add go-lang esque smartcontracts on top of a chain. They seem to be trying to make a smartcontract. Unsure how they use tindermint.
